Data Scientist

• Experis is partnered with the worlds leader of secure financial messaging in their search for a Data Scientist to join their Innovation team in Manassas, VA to lead and drive implementation of analytics in various functional domains - operational, security and application.
  
  Client works a 7.5 hr day / 37.5 hr week with NO OVERTIME allowed!
  
  MUST HAVE SKILLS: Candidates without all of this experience will not be considered EDUCATION is most important to this manager
  
  -Solid foundational education Reputable University; degree in Computer Science with ideally additional education in Math, Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, etcPHD would be highly preferred (doesnt care about online courses or certifications)
  
  -Should know how to solve problems, raise level of awareness within the company, will be in charge of outreach
  
  -Will also go to various schools and local companies and present in a classroom setting again to raise the level of awareness
  
  -Main Core Work: Needs to have a solid foundation of Machine Learning and Data Science technologies; will be working with business owners to solve problems
  
  -Should be able to build skeleton activities
  
  -Excellent communication skills
  
  -Strong analysis
  
  -Should be technical
  
  -Needs to have strong business depth
  
  -7-10yrs over all IT experience; 3-5 in Data Science
  
  REQUIRED SKILLS:
  
  -Experience in various Data Science disciplines such as Natural Language Processing, machine learning, conceptual modelling, statistics analysis, predictive modelling, hypothesis testing and various associated technologies
  
  -Able to program, preferably in different programming languages such as Python, R, Java, Ruby, Clojure, Matlab, Pig or SQL
  
  -Strong understanding of Hadoop, Hive and/or MapReduce and related big data and no-SQL database technologies
  
  -Strong written and verbal communication skills
  
  -Ability to advise senior management in clear language about the implications of their work for the organization
  
  -Strong understanding of design and architecture principles
  
  -Ability to work autonomously and create examples, prototypes, demonstrations to help management better understand the work
  
  RESPONSIBILITIES:
  
  -Integrating and preparing large and varied datasets from multiple complex relational databases and other unstructured data sources to turn data into critical information and knowledge in various functional domains operational, security and application
  
  -Creating models to discover insights and opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques.
  
  -Supporting and collaborating with key partners inside the organization on special projects, including developing models and evaluating new algorithms/technologies
  
  -Developing and maintaining continuous analytics to report on risks, exposures and internal controls across various areas of the organization
  
  -Mentoring the staff with this engineering paradigm
  
  -Lead outreach to colleges and academia to meet students, interns and oversee their machine learning activities and help track them to SWIFT
  
  -Build machine learning infrastructure at SWIFT to support various innovation proof of concepts to validate business ideas and demonstrate the outcomes to various business sponsors.
